Two Women Injured in Sterling Rollover Accident

FERRYVILLE, WI (Ben Caxton) — A single-vehicle crash in Sterling has left two area women injured. 87-year-old Beverly Kuhnke was injured when she hit a patch of ice and lost control of the minivan she was driving on State Highway 82, east of Fortner Road. Vernon County Sheriff’s report that the vehicle went off the right side of the roadway, struck an embankment, overturned, and rolled several times, finally coming to rest, upright, in a field. Kuhnke sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported by ambulance to Gundersen Health System in La Crosse. A passenger in the vehicle, 53-year-old Brenda Ziebell sustained possible injuries but refused treatment. Both operator and passenger were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
