Prairie Du Chien Police Warn Of Bogus Bills

PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, WI (Ben Caxton) — A recent spate of counterfeit bills seen in the Prairie du Chien area has police warning businesses to be on the lookout. The latest appearance of the bogus bills came at a Prairie du Chien restaurant where a customer attempted to pay with a $100 bill with Chinese characters printed on the front. The woman trying to pass the bill fled, and so far police have not been able to locate or identify her from security camera photos. Businesses are reminded that investing in a few markers to test the bills is always a good idea, and accepting U.S. currency with Chinese writing on it is not.
