Badly Needed Street Repairs Approved in Monona

MONONA, IA (Ben Caxton) — A street badly in need of repair in Monona will get the help it needs, as soon as weather cooperates. Bacon Concrete of Postville has been hired by the Monona City Council to make the repairs to a 110-foot section of West Franklin Street, at a cost of $4,505. City Administrator Dan Canton told the council last week the road has been damaged at a point where it narrows causing drivers to travel onto the gravel shoulder. The damaged portion of the road will be replaced with 7-inch-thick concrete.
