Marathon County Village Gives Up on Snow Shovelling

MARATHON COUNTY, WI (Ben Caxton) — The Marathon County Village of Edgar is suspending its ordinance requiring residents to clear their sidewalk. Village Administrator Jennifer Lopez says street crews will be blowing snow into the sidewalks because they just don’t have anywhere to put it [wrnjlo1] Besides, as Lopez notes, spring is just around the corner. [wrnjlo2] Lopez says the ordinance will likely remain suspended for the rest of the season. The village’s two dumping areas for snow are both nearly full.
