Buffalo County Fire Kills 4,000 Pigs

BUFFALO COUNTY, WI (Ben Caxton) — 4,000 swine are dead in Buffalo County after a massive fire at a pig barn near Moldovi. The fire broke out shortly after 5:30 AM Wednesday morning at Holden Farms east of Naples. Authorities say part of the barn housing the animals may have collapsed before the fire started. Firefighters from Buffalo, Trempealeau, Eau Claire, Pepin and Dunn Counties all spent several hours battling the blaze.
