Hit and Run Drug Bust Nabs Viroqua Man

CRAWFORD COUNTY, WI (Ben Caxton) — A Viroqua man is in jail today after the car in which he was riding was seen fleeing the scene of an accident in Utica Township. When Deputies caught up with the car, driven by 40-year-old Randol Zeigler of Lynxville, a passenger, and the owner of the vehicle, 43-year-old Joshua Czap of Viroqua was escorted back to the squad car for further investigation. While seated in the police squad car, the deputy observed Czap attempting to conceal something in his groin. After a brief struggle, Czap was searched and several plastic baggies were discovered in his pants, some of which had a small amount of white residue. A search of his vehicle also yielded a small plastic container with white crystal residue inside. He was arrested and transported to the Crawford County Jail. While at the jail the deputy located several grams of a crystal substance in the Squad car where Czap was seated during transport that later tested positive for methamphetamine. Czap was ultimately charged with possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, two counts of resisting or obstructing an officer, and probation violation.
