Minor Injuries in Two Vehicle Crash on Highway 35

GENOA, WI (Ben Caxton) — No one was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash just before noon Saturday in Genoa. 83-year-old Betty Wurzel of La Crosse was southbound on Highway 35 just south of State Highway 56 when she failed to see a truck, driven by 56-year-old Richard Elsen of Kenosha, pulling a boat and trailer ahead stopped in traffic. Wurzel struck the boat and trailer and continued up the right side of the vehicle and struck the truck in the passenger door. A passenger in Wurzel’s vehicle, 86-year-old Jeannette Hoffman received non-life threatening injuries and was transported by Tri-State Ambulance to Gundersen Health Systems. Wurzel, and another passenger in Wurzel’s car, and one in Elsen’s truck were not injured. All occupants were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
