VIROQUA, WI (Ben Caxton) — Area voters gave mixed results to various referenda on the ballot in yesterday’s election. In Holmen, voters appear to have narrowly managed to reach the 60% threshold for $2.25 million for technology improvements in that school district. But ballot initiatives for other school improvements look to have fallen short of the mark in La Crosse, West Salem, Whitehall, and Tomah. Arcadia voters approved a new curbside recycling service. And Monroe County has approved $21.5 million for a new senior care facility. Meanwhile, voters showed support for non-partisan redistricting legislation, voting yes by a 71% to 29% margin in Vernon County, and 77% to 23% in La Crosse County.
