All Burn Permits Suspended in Grant County

LANCASTER, WI (Ben Caxton) — With the fire risk upgraded to “very high” today Grant County Emergency Management announced that all burning permits in the county have been suspended indefinitely. Residents are asked to refrain from outdoor burning. he ban applies to any burn piles, burn barrels and all campfires unless in developed camping areas. People are urged to use caution when disposing of any matches, ashes, charcoal briquettes or burning materials in the outdoors. All firework use is banned. Charcoal grills may be used only near a residential dwelling on a non-combustible surface, such as concrete. People are reminded to dispose of any cigars, cigarettes or pipes in designated receptacles. Forecasters say no relief is in site and conditions are expected to remain dangerous for the foreseeable future.
