Local Ems Trained on Pig Hearts Monday

HOLMEN, WI (Ben Caxton) — Firefighters in Holmen and Onalaska held a joint EMS training session on Monday. Area EMS technicians were invited to get a better understanding of bleeding control, ventilation, and airway procedures. The training allowed the first responders to use dissect and work with real pig hearts and pig lungs. Pig organs are often used in medical training because of their similarities to human organs.
