Three Arrested for Drugs in Prairie Du Chien

PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, WI (Ben Caxton) — Three people were arrested in Prairie du Chien on drugs and other charges on Monday the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department reports. When Deputies stopped a 2004 Chevrolet Malibu at the intersection of South Wacouta and East Broadway Streets, K-9 Officer Breck was called in and alerted to the presence of drugs in the vehicle. Inside were 34-year-old Randy Slaght, the driver, and passengers 36-year-old Abby Hiles, both of Prairie du Chien, and Waukon resident 49-year-old Tod Frieden. Hiles, who had an active warrant for her arrest, began moving things around her seat upon contact from the deputies and all three occupants displayed signs of drug use according to the arrest report. Inside the car deputies located two hypodermic needles, with several cc’s of liquid, which tested positive for methamphetamine, two additional used hypodermic needles, and a small plastic baggy with crystal substance, which tested positive for methamphetamine. Schedule 4 narcotics and marijuana were scattered throughout the vehicle. Freiden and Hiles were both arrested and transported to the Crawford County Jail. Slaght was transported to Crossing Rivers Hospital for an evaluation and then arrested on his release.
