Woman Airlifted for Treatment After Mount Hope Crash

MOUNT HOPE, WI (Ben Caxton) — An early Wednesday morning crash near Mount Hope sent a woman to the hospital by helicopter with life-threatening injuries. 20-year-old Jasmine Kopp and a passenger, 19-year-old Jordan Buroker of Cazenovia were traveling westbound on State Highway 60 around 12:15 AM when Kopp lost control of the car. Authorities say the vehicle’s rear end skipped due to an odd sized tire causing the driver to go onto the shoulder of the roadway. The car continued on the right shoulder for 85 yards before striking a culvert and went airborne for 25 yards before the front end hit the ground traveling another 36 yards before finally coming to rest. Kopp was transported by Boscobel EMS to Boscobel Hospital due to serious injury. Kopp was later airlifted to Madison. The vehicle sustained heavy damage and had to be towed away. Kopp was issued citations for No Insurance, Non-Registration of Auto, Failure to Maintain Control and Tire Equipment Violation.
