LA CROSSE, WI (221 PM CDT Mon May 27 2019) — The National Weather Service in La Crosse has issued a Tornado Warning for North central Fillmore County in southeastern Minnesota until 245 PM CDT. At 221 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Fountain, or near Preston, moving north at 25 mph. HAZARD: Tornado. SOURCE: Radar indicated rotation. Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. This dangerous storm will be near Fountain around 225 PM CDT. Chatfield around 245 PM CDT. Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include Highway 30 And County 74, Pilot Mound, Old Barn Campground and Isinours. This storm has shown signs of weakening recently, but remains capable of producing a tornado. TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris. Heavy rainfall may hide this tornado.
