LA CROSSE, WI (100 PM CDT Mon May 27 2019) — The National Weather Service in La Crosse has issued a Tornado Warning for Northwestern Howard County in northeastern Iowa Southeastern Mower County in southeastern Minnesota Southwestern Fillmore County in southeastern Minnesota until 145 PM CDT. At 1259 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Riceville, or 17 miles east of Osage, moving northeast at 40 mph. HAZARD: Tornado. SOURCE: Radar indicated rotation. This storm has a history of producing a tornado over the past 30 minutes. Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. This dangerous storm will be near Le Roy around 110 PM CDT. Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include Chester, Saratoga, Forestville State Park, Etna, York, Cherry Grove and Ostrander. TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.
