Grant County Ponders Land Use

GRANT COUNTY, WI (Ben Caxton) — Grant County has requested proposals on what do to with six parcels of land that are around the county’s current Law Enforcement Center on the north side of Lancaster, not including the two lots that include the Law Enforcement Center building. The building was left off the Request for Proposals because the communication equipment in the building is still in use by the Grant County Sheriff’s Department, and may still be in use for a long time to come. The department’s new communications provider, Racom, has recommended the communications equipment stay in place at the current site until a location can be established for a new communications tower for the Sheriff’s Department and the tower built. The RFP for the remaining six parcels which includes the old county Job Service Building is due July 8th.
