DENVER, WI (Ben Caxton) — Denver Broncos owner Pat Bowlen died Thursday night. His story started in Wisconsin. Bowlen was born in Prairie du Chien, where he also graduated from high school. He rose to the top of his family’s oil drilling business and bought the NFL’s Broncos in 1984. The team won three Super Bowls under his leadership. Bowlen battled Alzheimer’s disease for several years. He was 75.
