Man Arrested for Driving Tractor to Court Hearing

FAYETTE COUNTY, IA (Ben Caxton) — A man has been arrested in Fayette County – for driving a tractor to attend a court hearing. 54-year-old Jeffery Wil Johanningmeier of Wadena was taken into custody by Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputies a little after 11:00 AM Wednesday. The Sheriff’s Office says Johanningmeier had driven an 8100 John Deere tractor from the Wadena area to the Fayette County Courthouse to court. Johanningmeier was charged with driving – the tractor – with a suspended license and transported to the Fayette County Jail – presumably not by tractor – and held pending an appearance with a Magistrate.
