Minor Injuries in Head-on Bridge Crash

BOSCOBEL, WI (Ben Caxton) — A head-on crash on a bridge near Boscobel, fortunately, resulted in only minor injuries to the two drivers. The Grant County Sheriff reports that they were notified just after midnight in the early morning hours of June 23rd of a two-vehicle head-on crash on Townhall Road just west of Highway 61 in the Township of Marion. Their investigation revealed that a 1990 Ford Mustang headed eastbound on Townhall Road driven by 15-year-old Hannah Kraft, of Boscobel was crossing a narrow bridge on Townhall Road when a westbound a 2001 Ford F150 driven by 20-year-old Bailey Crary of Boscobel entered onto the same bridge from the opposite direction. The two vehicles collided head-on just as the Mustang was exiting the bridge on the east side. Both vehicles received severe damage and came to a rest in the roadway. A 16-year-old passenger in the Mustang, fled the scene prior to law enforcement arriving. Two passengers in the F150 received minor injuries in the crash and refused medical transport. All occupants in both vehicles were wearing seatbelts. Kraft was cited for Operation by Permittee without a parent, instructor, or person over 21 in the vehicle. The 16-year-old passenger who fled will be cited for Underage Drinking. Crary will be cited for Operating a Motor Vehicle without Insurance and Failure to Yield half the roadway.
