Deer Cause Injury Crash in Mt. Ida

MT. IDA, WI (Ben Caxton) — Running deer led to a one-vehicle crash in Mt. Ida Monday evening. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office reports that they were notified of the accident on County highway K about a tenth of a mile north of Hilltop Road in Mt. Ida Township shortly after 8:30 PM. 18-year-old Lindsey Lund of Wauzeka was traveling north when 3-4 deer ran out in front of her vehicle. To avoid the collision, Lund swerved to miss the deer and ended up driving off the east side of the road. Her 2007 Pontiac Grand Am then traveled down an embankment and struck a fence resulting in moderate damage and requiring it to be towed from the scene. Lund was taken by private vehicle to Gunderson Boscobel Area Health Care for treatment of minor injuries.
