U.S. 18 Resurfacing Project Begins Tomorrow

BRIDGEPORT, WI (Ben Caxton) — The $3.5 million dollar resurfacing of U.S. Highway 18 between Bridgeport and Patch Grove starts tomorrow. The work will involve removing and replacing the top two inches or so of the highway’s surface from the Wisconsin River bridge south to the Highway 18/35 intersection in Patch Grove, a distance of 6.3 miles. Crews will also widen the shoulders of the highway from three feet to five feet and replace guardrails in some locations. The highway is expected to remain open, but reduced to one lane in places with traffic controlled by flaggers, while repairs are made.
