Two Injured in Fogbound Grant County Collision

GRANT COUNTY, WI (Ben Caxton) — A fogbound crash along the Iowa-Grant county line sent two people to the hospital Monday the Grant County Sheriff’s office reports. Authorities say the Iowa County Sheriff’s office received a 911 around 7:30 AM about a two-car wreck on State Highway 80 and County Highway X. When Grant County deputies arrived they learned that 57-year-old Rick Scott of Livingston had been driving his 2012 Chevy Avalanche northbound on Highway 80 when 18-year-old Kristopher Leitzinger of Linden, who was westbound on the county highway did not see a stop sign in the fog and hit the Scott vehicle on the passenger side with his 2003 Chevy Malibu. The impact caused Scott’s vehicle to roll a couple times before coming to rest in a ditch. Both drivers were transported to Southwest Health Center in Platteville for treatment. Leitzinger was cited for non-registration and no- insurance.
