Man Arrested in Tomah Restaurant Armed Robbery

TOMAH, WI (Ben Caxton) — An arrest has been made in the attempted armed robbery of a Toma restaurant. Police were tipped off that a robbery was about to take place at Uptown Pizza on Washington Street around 3:20 PM. The suspect, 35-year-old Donald Winters was already inside when police arrived on the scene. He was taken into custody without incident as he left the restaurant. Winters who was out on bond for a domestic abuse charge with a condition that he not drink alcohol was reportedly intoxicated at the time of his arrest, carrying a facsimile handgun, and thousands of dollars in counterfeit $100 bills.
