Kind Reminds Students to Turn in Academy Applications

Washington, DC (Ben Caxton) — Representative Ron Kind’s office is now accepting applications from individuals interested in attending one of our nation’s service academies. Students have until Friday, October 18, to submit their paperwork. Kind said in a press release that with school starting up again and schedules getting busy he wanted to remind students who are interested to get their applications in soon adding that each year he looks forward to meeting with “some of our best and brightest who want to be our military’s future leaders.” A Congressional nomination is required for students interested in attending the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, the U.S. Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs or the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, New York. The application process is open to any United States citizen who will be a high school graduate. Generally, high school students entering their senior year apply for admittance for the following year.
