Preparedness: Plan Escape Routes for Emergencies

WISCONSIN (Ben Caxton) — September is Preparedness Month in Wisconsin and “Be Prepared, Not Scared” is the advice from Andrew Beckett with Wisconsin Emergency Management. He says that includes having and practicing a plan to get out of your home if you need to “Whether it be a fire or flooding in the area that makes it so that you need to leave the house quickly. You need to talk about those escape routes and how you’ll get out safely and where people will meet afterwards.” Also essential, a list of family contacts for everyone. You can find planning and preparedness tips online at www.dma.wi.gov.
