City Of Elkader Snatches Away Council Member

ELKADER, IA (Ben Caxton) — The City of Elkader has poached one of its own city councilman. The city announced this week that now-former councilman Curtis Ruhser resigned his seat on Monday to accept a position as an administrative assistant deputy city clerk. The remaining two year’s of Ruhser’s term will be filled by voters in the November 5th election, along with three other seats, and the mayor’s position. The filing deadline is coming up fast, in just one week on September 19. Interested candidates must submit a nomination petition signed by at least 10 city residents along with an affidavit of candidacy.
