Handgun Fired in Sunday Morning Argument

RICHLAND COUNTY, WI (Ben Caxton) — An early Sunday morning argument ended up with a handgun being fired in Richland County. The Sheriff’s Office reports that they were called to the scene of the fight between two men around 6:45 AM where they spoke with Thomas Zimmerman who told them that he and 32-year-old Joseph Lobsinger of Cazenovia were staying in campers on a property with their families when an argument started between the two. As Zimmerman tried to leave the area, Lobsinger grabbed a handgun and fired it one time, then waved the gun towards Zimmerman and yelled at Zimmerman as he left the property. He told deputies two adult females and a younger female were still at the property. Deputies called for help from the Richland County Special Response Team. The team used its armored vehicle to search the property and to determine the other family members were safe. Deputies later located Lobsinger and took him into custody on charges of Domestic Disorderly Conduct, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and Felony Bail Jumping with other charges are pending with the District Attorney’s Office.
