PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, WI (Ben Caxton) — Prairie du Chien resident Diane Long will serve as the Family Honorary Chairperson of the inaugural Crawford County Alzheimer’s Walk/Run October 5th in Prairie Du Chien. Long, who is the caregiver for her dementia-affected husband, says she is thankful to the Alzheimer’s & Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin for offering support group meetings in Crawford County. They have first-hand experience with families diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and dementia. The Walk/Run is this Saturday with registration starting at 8:00 AM at the Jaycee Shelter. To register or pledge support, contact Heather Moore at 608-723-4288. Proceeds from the Walk/Run will help provide services, support, and education to Crawford County residents impacted by Alzheimer’s and dementia.
