Thunderstorm Warning for Dubuque County IA and 1 More

QUAD CITIES IA, QUAD CITIES IA/IL (657 PM CDT Tue Oct 1 2019) — The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Western Dubuque County in northeastern Iowa Delaware County in northeastern Iowa until 745 PM CDT. At 656 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Oneida, or near Manchester, moving east at 50 mph. HAZARD: 60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE: Radar indicated. Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include Manchester, Dyersville, Epworth, Farley, Peosta, Edgewood, Earlville, Delhi, New Vienna, Colesburg, Worthington, Holy Cross, Greeley, Luxemburg, Rickardsville, Dundee, Delaware, Centralia, Masonville and Balltown. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature s leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
