Dot Serves Notice on Milwaukee Tent City

MILWAUKEE, WI (Ben Caxton) — The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has served notice on a homeless encampment in Milwaukee. `DOT notices were delivered last Friday to “Tent City,” where as many as 60 people live beneath the I-794 overpass in downtown Milwaukee. They’ve been told they’ll need to leave by October 31. Work will begin soon on a joint DOT-City of Milwaukee green infrastructure project under the freeway. The notice urges Tent City residents to take advantage of shelters and other services for homeless people in the Milwaukee area. `
