Halifax Group Buys out Prairie Industries & Nu-pak

PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, WI (Ben Caxton) — A private investment firm is taking over at Prairie Industries in Prairie du Chien and Nu-Pak in Boscobel. The buyer is Washington DC-based Halifax Group. Officials with the company say all 900 jobs at the three locations in Prairie du Chien, along with one in Boscobel, and Lansing, Iowa are safe. The move is described by Prairie Industries and Nu-Pak President Jeff Panka as a way to allow Jim Hutchison who is turning 65 this year, to begin “phasing out of the business.” Prairie Industries specializes in contract packaging and converting services including blister packaging, retail display assembly, mixing/bottling liquids, and various other packaging services.
