Fennimore Golf Course Will Not Be Ploughed Under

FENNIMORE, WI (Ben Caxton) — A popular Fennimore area golf course has been given a new lease on life thanks to a new buyer. Israel Hertzler, of Boscobel, had been in negotiations to buy the Hickory Grove Golf Course and Country Club on U.S. 61 with the intent of having it rezoned for agricultural use. According to a report in the Dubuque Telegraph-Herald newspaper Greg and Heather Norsby, of Mount Zion have stepped in to buy the property to save it from that fate, telling the paper “It’s been a piece of the community for years. The purchase price for the nine-hole course and 1960’s era restaurant and bar is reportedly $600,000.
