Tomah Man Sentenced to 60 Years for Child Sex Crimes

SPARTA, WI (Ben Caxton) — A Tomah man has been sentenced to 35 years behind bars, and 25 years of court supervision for sex crimes against children. Monroe County District Attorney Kevin D. Croninger announced yesterday that 41-year-old David J. Hamilton appeared in court Friday and was handed the sentence by County Circuit Court Judge Mark Goodman. In a press release, Croninger said Hamilton is a “predator” adding that “predators belong in prison.” Hamilton was convicted on 57 counts in June that included 45 counts of Possession of Child Pornography, 6 counts of a Registered Sex Offender photographing a minor without consent, 5 counts of Exposing Genitals and 1 count of Child Exploitation. The investigation of the child sex crimes was led by Investigator Paul Sloan of the City of Tomah Police Department, with assistance from the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation.
