Emergency Declared for Sudden Cold Snap

WISCONSIN (Ben Caxton) — The sudden cold snap has prompted Governor Tony Evers to declare an energy emergency in Wisconsin. `Citing a late corn harvest and cold weather leading to an increase in demand for propane, Evers issued an executive order which temporarily lifts restrictions on truck drivers delivering propane. Federal and state regulations limit the number of consecutive hours a driver can work behind the wheel to 14. After that, rules mandate a 10-hour rest period before that person can drive again. Evers says the order will ensure swift and efficient delivery of petroleum products throughout the state.`
