Sen Baldwin Leads Doomed Vote on Health Care Bills in Senate

WASHINGTON, DC (Ben Caxton) — Senator Tammy Baldwin led Democrats on a vote to preserve parts of the Affordable Care Act on Wednesday. On the floor of the Senate, Baldwin said that meddling from the Trump Administration has cut funding for Marketplace navigators by over 80 percent. “We need to keep up the funding for Navigator programs so that more people can find an affordable health care plan that meets their needs.” Baldwin’s bills would also have ensured protections for pre-existing conditions and stopped the rollout of so-called Junk Health Care plans. Both measures were voted down by the rest of the Senate.
