Richland Center Police Chief Accused Of Groping Bartender

RICHLAND CENTER, WI (Ben Caxton) — A criminal complaint alleges Richland Center Police Chief Lucas Clements groped a bartender and stole her tip money. It happened on June 16 and was handled by the state Division of Criminal Investigation. The complaint says surveillance video showed Clements inappropriately touched the bartender multiple times. He faces charges of fourth-degree sexual assault and theft. Richland Center’s mayor said Clements was put on paid leave within 24 hours of the city learning of the incident, and he remains on paid leave, with a lieutenant as acting chief.
