Richland Center Police Chief Resigns

RICHLAND CENTER, WI (Ben Caxton) — Richland Center Police Chief Lucas Clements resigned Monday amid allegations of sexual assault and theft. His resignation was immediately accepted by the city’s police commission. Clements is facing three counts of sexual assault and one count of theft for a June incident where he is accused of groping a bartender and stealing her tips and has been on paid leave from the department ever since. His lawyers entered not guilty pleas to the charges in court on Friday. His next court appearance is scheduled for December 13.
