Prairie Police Want Help to Find Tree Chainsaw Murderer

PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, WI (Ben caxton) — Prairie du Chien police are asking for the public’s help finding a chain-saw tree murderer apparently on the loose in the city. Authorities say they first received complaints about four trees having been illegally cut down along Villa Louis Road near Rolette Street on October 29. The trees appeared to have been cut with either a chainsaw or a hand saw and were left on scene after being cut. On Monday another tree was found, cut down. Tire tracks at the secene lead police to believe those responsible are traveling in a vehicle. Anyone with information on the damage is asked to call Prairie du Chien police at 608-326-2421 or Crawford County Crime Stoppers at 608-326-8933.
