Truck Hits Utility Pole in Vernonon County

VERNON COUNTY, WI (Ben Caxton) — A single-vehicle crash occurred late Wednesday morning around 10:45 AM in Christiana. 18-year-old Miranda Ingles of rural De Soto was operating a full-size pickup truck on Lovaas Ridge Road, near Westby when she lost control on the snow and slush covered roadway. The truck spun around, going off the west side of the roadway and struck a utility pole. The wood pole was severed just above grade level, but the electrical lines remained intact. Ingles and her passenger, 18-year-old Cheyenne La Mere – Volden of rural Westby were both wearing seatbelts. Ingles sustained possible injuries and refused medical treatment, but sought medical treatment, on her own, the following day. La Mere – Volden did not complain of any injuries. Vernon Electric Cooperative was on scene while the vehicle was removed to replace the power pole.
