Uw Eau Claire Addresses Campus Equality

EAU CLAIRE, WI (Ben Caxton) — UW Eau Claire is attempting to address racist incidents on campus. `Several hundred UW-Eau Claire faculty, staff and university members gathered earlier this week to discuss how to handle biased incidents and improve the campus climate going forward. Students left classes Monday afternoon to protest for long-term change regarding racial equality. Five student-athletes were suspended from the football team last week after group chat messages revealed comments targeting the campus group Black Male Empowerment, including a picture of the Ku Klux Klan and a burning wooden cross.`
