Two Arrested in November Boscobel Overdose Death

BOSCOBEL, WI (Ben Caxton) — Two people have been arrested on murder charges in connection with a drug overdose death in Boscobel. 23-year-old Austin Janick, and 29-year-old Travis Heal, both of La Crosse were arrested Monday and Tuesday after an investigation by the Grant County Sheriff’s Office into the death of 23-year-old Cierra Schiffler. Schiffler died November 21st from an overdose of heroin containing Fentanyl. The case against Janick and Heal has been referred to the Grant County District Attorney’s Office. Austin Janick is currently in custody at the Grant County Jail awaiting an initial appearance, Travis Heal is in custody at the La Crosse County jail and will be brought to Grant County in the near future. Assisting the detectives from the Grant County Sheriff’s Office were the Investigators from the Richland-Iowa-Grant Drug Task Force, La Crosse Police Department, La Crosse County Sheriff’s Office, Holmen Police Department, Wisconsin Department of Justice-Division of Criminal Investigation, Onalaska Police Department and the Grant County Coroner’s Office.
