Platteville Man Dies in Madison Beltline Rollover Crash

MADISON, WI (Ben Caxton) — A two-car rollover accident that closed all westbound lanes of the Beltline for three hours Saturday killed a Platteville man authorities revealed Sunday. The Dane County Medical 27-year-old Alex Abing was killed when his vehicle rolled over, and he had to be extricated by first responders. He later died at a local hospital. Abing was one of two drivers involved in a two-vehicle crash at that occurred shortly before 7:00 AM Saturday on westbound U.S. 12 between Mineral Point and Old Sauk roads. The other driver, who was not identified in the report, was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
