BLACK RIVER FALLS, WI (Ben Caxton) — A high-speed chase along Interstate 94 westbound that reached speeds of up to 125 mph ended in a multi-vehicle crash on Monday. Tomah Police began chasing a car shortly after 4:00 PM Monday that was weaving in and out of traffic and passing other vehicles on the shoulder at speeds of 115 to 125 mph. The chase came to an abrupt end after entering Jackson County when the driver lost control and hit another vehicle, a guardrail, and then struck a semi before becoming wedged under one of the semi’s axels. The driver, 41-year-old Sarah Fast, and a passenger suffered minor injuries and were taken to a hospital for treatment. Fast was then arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of a controlled substance after a trooper noted signs of impairment while talking with her at the hospital. The drivers of the first vehicle and semi weren’t injured.
