DUNN COUNTY, WI (Ben Caxton) — Union Pacific Railroad says a broken rail was likely the cause of a train derailment in Western Wisconsin. `It happened Sunday in Dunn County. According to a statement from the railroad, the train had 192 cars hauling mixed freight. About 35 cars derailed or partially derailed, and 18 of those were involved in a “pile-up.” Union Pacific says a detailed investigation is underway and the full results will be provided to the Federal Railroad Administration.`
