No Injuries in Two Saturday Vernon County Accidents

VIROQUA COUNTY, WI (Ben Caxton) — A pair fo weather-related accidents in Viroqua County on Saturday did not result in any injuries. The Sheriff’s Department reports that Ashlyn Bolstad of De Soto was traveling southbound on snow-covered State Highway 35 in the town of Wheatland when she hit a patch of snow sending her car into the ditch. The vehicle traveled down a steep embankment and overturned in a small pond. Bolstad climbed out of the passenger’s side window, walked home, and contacted law enforcement. The same day, Devin Schmitt of Beaver Dam was traveling driving northbound on Wolf Valley Road in Whitestown. Unfamiliar with the roadways, and hampered by blowing snow, he had difficulty seeing the intersection ahead. Schmitt came to the fork in the roadway and traveled through the intersection. The vehicle turned sideways and came to a rest on its roof. In both cases, the vehicles had to be towed from the accident scene.
