Eagles Telethon Raises More Than $22,000 for Cancer Research

VIROQUA, WI (Ben Caxton) — The Viroqua Eagles raised 22,500 dollars over the weekend during their annual cancer telethon. As part of the event, they hosted a lutefisk dinner and a lumberjack breakfast both of which served more than 200 people. The Eagles also had a silent auction and a live auction to raise funds for the telethon plus a Saturday call-in pledge show televised on the local cable company. Eagle members presented a check for over 22,500 dollars to Gundersen Officials Saturday night. Donations for 2020 will continue to be accepted at the Viroqua Eagles clubrooms in person or through the mail. Viroqua ranks as one of the top two aeries in the nation in donations for cancer research raising over 600 thousand dollars for Gundersen Health in La Crosse over the past 44 years.
