PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, WI (Ben Caxton) — Crawford County’s new District Attorney will be behind the desk and at work this coming Monday. Potosi native Lukas Steiner was appointed by Governor Tony Evers to fill a vacancy created by the retirement of Tim Baxter in early January and will serve the rest of Baxter’s original term, which expires in January of next year. Steiner is leaving his current position as an associate in a Lancaster law firm to come to Prairie du Chien. He has a B.A. from UW-Oshkosh and received his Juris Doctor degree from Marquette University Law School in 2010.
