Learn to Be a Beekeeper in Viroqua

VIROQUA, WI (Ben Caxton) — You can start learning what it takes to be a beekeeper with the help of Viroqua’s McIntosh Memorial Library in Viroqua starting at the end of this month. The two-part class will be held from 9:15 AM to Noon both Saturday, February 29, and Saturday, March 7. The course will be taught by Jim Krause, a Viroqua beekeeper for 20 years, using materials from the University of Minnesota short course “Raising Bees in Northern Climates” and covers topics like equipment needs, and obtaining bees and maintaining the hive. The classes are designed for people new to beekeeping and especially people that are interested in becoming beekeepers.
