Lancaster Council Approves Fees for New Swimming Pool

LANCASTER, WI (Ben Caxton) — The Lancaster Common Council has unanimously approved fees for the municipal swimming pool and for the city’s recreation program after making a few changes to recommendations made by the city’s Parks and Recreation Committee. Mayor Dave Varnam and at least two council members voiced concerned during January’s common council meeting that the fees recommended by the committee were too high. Fees approved by the council set a season pass for the municipal pool at $75, plus an additional $25 for household member who wants to swim. The council also lowered the suggested per household cap from $175 to $150 and added a $10 fee for a babysitter to be added to the season pass. The $3 entrance fee for a daily pass at the Lancaster Municipal was not changed. This year children between the ages of 3 and 5 will have to pay for access. Children 2 and under are free.
