Outagamie County Teen Is State’s 12th Snowmobile Fatality

OUTAGAMIE COUNTY, WI (Ben Caxton) — Twelve people have now died while snowmobiling in Wisconsin this season. `The most recent, a 15-year-old who died when his snowmobile was struck by an SUV in Outagamie County. Investigators say the Seymour High School student failed to stop at a trail stop sign and was struck in a roadway. His was the fourth snowmobile fatality in the last two weeks. So far in this snowmobile season, seven fatalities have involved alcohol use, according to the DNR. The two biggest factors in deaths are alcohol use and excessive speed. `
