Wyalusing Traffic Stop Results in OWI 3rd Offense Arrest

BAGLEY, WI (Ben Caxton) — A traffic stop late Wednesday morning in Wyalusing resulted in a 3rd OWI arrest for a Mount Hope man. According to reports, as 59-year-old Daniel Meyers rounded a corner in his 2013 Ford F150 on County Road X near Borhringer Lane he crossed the centerline and nearly collided head-on with a fully marked Grant County Sheriff’s Deputy squad car. The Deputy was able to avoid a crash, got turned around and subsequently stopped Meyers for operating left of center. Upon further investigation, it was discovered Meyers had a loaded rifle in the front seat and had been drinking. After field a field sobriety test Meyers was arrested for a 3rd offense OWI. Meyers was booked into jail on the OWI charge and for going armed while intoxicated. Meyers was also cited for open intoxicants in the vehicle and operating left of center.
